Kiyomizu-dera Temple, registered as a World Heritage Site (World Cultural Heritage), is a temple known for its "Kiyomizu Stage." The view of the city from the main hall overlooking the cliff is a must-see. You can enjoy the beautiful scenery no matter when you visit, spring, summer, autumn or winter.
Yasaka Koshindo is widely known as the birthplace of the Koshin faith, and even today, the Koshindo still holds events such as goma fire and konnyaku burning on Koshin day. The colorful "Kukurizaru" (tied monkey) is a talisman made to warn against selfishness by tying up the limbs of monkeys who act on their desires.
This shrine is famous for breaking bad relationships and creating good ones. If you hold a katashiro (paper figure) and pass it through the 1.5m x 3m stone with a hole in it , while making a wish, from front to back and from back to front, and then stick the katashiro on the stone, your wish will come true.
The graves of Sakamoto Ryoma, Nakaoka Shintaro and others are located here, as well as the military memorial park "Showa no Mori."
