Thailand's traditional New Year is a vibrant and culturally rich festival celebrated from 13 to 15 April. This exuberant event transforms Bangkok city into a hub of joy and community spirit, where locals and tourists alike engage in lively water fights, symbolising the welcoming of prosperity. During this period, Bangkok's streets come alive with parades, traditional music, dance performances, and a contagious festive atmosphere.

One of Thailand's most enchanting festivals, Loy Krathong is celebrated on the evening of the full moon in the 12th month of the Thai lunar calendar, usually in November. This festival pays homage to the Goddess of Water, and is marked by thousands of intricately decorated krathongs (floating baskets adorned with candles, incense, and flowers) being set adrift on Bangkok's rivers and canals. The evening is further illuminated by a mesmerising spectacle of traditional dance performances, fireworks, and music.

Chinese New Year marks the beginning of the lunar new year, usually occurring between January and February. This festival is deeply rooted in traditions symbolising renewal, prosperity, and family unity. In Bangkok, the heart of the festivities is Chinatown, where the streets come alive with spectacular dragon and lion dances, colourful parades, and the tantalising aromas of traditional Chinese delicacies.

Navaratri, a Hindu festival spanning nine nights, celebrates the divine feminine energy and the triumph of good over evil. In Bangkok, this vibrant festival is marked by grand processions and colourful celebrations, involving elaborate rituals, traditional music, and dance performances.
