Anji White Tea Picking Tour
Complete your Anji experience with an Anji white tea picking tour. Starting from the picturesque Huangdu Village Tea Garden all the way to the Tianyuan Jialebi tea mountains, this tour will help you develop a newfound love for white tea.
Anji white tea is a specialty of Anji county and belongs to the category of green tea, based on its production process and the characteristics of the tea leaves.
With bright shades of gold and emerald green, white tea leaves have long-lasting fragrance and produce fresh, mellow tea that is rich in amino acids - 3-4 times higher than ordinary green tea. White tea is also abundant with antioxidants and has no bitterness.
Huangdu Village Tea Garden
While Anji white tea harvest times vary with geographical location and temperature, white tea is generally picked from mid-March to early April over a period of about 15-20 days. It's at this time when young tea buds are tender and full of flavour.
As you make your way to the tea garden, you can enjoy the pastoral mountainscapes with its endless fields of white tea. The clusters of trees are neatly arranged with their delicate tea leaves unfurled in brilliant green. Stroll through the fields and the rows of Western-style houses scattered on the hillside with the distant sounds of villagers' laughter and chatter, and bask in the serenity of the fresh air and the countryside.
Tianyuan Jialebi
A view of the gorgeous tea mountains of Tianyuan Jialebi is better enjoyed with fun-filled theme park rides. Anji's Tianyuan Jialebi Scenic Area has 16.7 hectares of tea mountains, 1.3 hectares of white tea, and 3.3 hectares of Longjing tea. Depart at 7:30 in the morning and head to the Tiayuan Jialebi Theme Park, where you'll enter the scenic area around 9:00 and can head to the tea mountain while admiring the theme park attractions along the way.
Start picking tea using traditional tea picking methods, harvesting the tender tea buds and young leaves of the season; then go to the parent-child kitchen to experience making tea.
